Law Enforcement Department

The Cortland County SPCA's Law Enforcement Department is tasked with enforcing New York State animal cruelty laws in Cortland County. The CCSPCA LE department investigates complaints of animal neglect, cruelty, and abuse throughout Cortland County. The department enforces the NYS AGM cruelty laws by education, compliance and has the authority under NYS Law to arrest and seize when appropriate. The Department also contracts with different municipalities for a variety of animal related services including but not limited to dog control and enforcing NYS animal cruelty laws. The SPCA LE department has three investigators, one agent, and one chief law enforcement officer who oversees the department. 


The SPCA Law Enforcement Department is available 24/7, 365 days a year to respond to calls.

CCSPCA provides dog control services to the following municipalities:

Town of Cincinnatus

Town of Marathon

Village of Marathon 

Town of Solon
